§ 36-35. Exemption from collection fees for elderly.

Any such person using the services of the city for the collection and removal of garbage shall be required to pay the fees and charges therefor as determined in section 36-33; provided, however, that any resident within the city over the age of 65 years may be exempted from the payment of the fee only by making an application to the city secretary stating therein their desire to be exempted from payment of the fees and charges collected by the city for the collection of such garbage and trash and stating therein that they are unable, financially, to pay such fees and charges, and such application shall be reviewed by the mayor, or his designate, who shall have final authority for either the granting or denying of such exemption.
