§ 2-169. Purpose.

To the extent permitted by law, this division establishes the city's policy of providing legal representation and indemnification for officers, employees, and volunteers in instances where claims or lawsuits are brought against such persons. Such legal representation and indemnification is afforded only in accordance with the terms and conditions of this article, and only in the case of a claim or lawsuit arising from an act or omission which occurs in the course and scope of employment by or duties performed for the city.
