§ 20-25. International Fire Code adopted.

For the purpose of providing regulations consistent with nationally recognized practices for the reasonable protection of life and property from the hazards of fire, the city hereby adopts the International Fire Code, 2012 edition, hereinafter sometimes referred to as the "code," with appendix chapters B through J, as published by the International Code Council, Inc., except such portions as are deleted or amended by this article, and the same are hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein. One copy of the code is now filed in the office of the city secretary. From the date on which the ordinance from which this article is derived shall take effect, the provisions thereof shall be controlling within the limits of the city and its extraterritorial jurisdiction.
